The Peaks and Northern Footpath Society now has its own smartphone app, Path Checker, which simplifies the business of reporting a problem - broken stile, overgrown section of a path etc - on a public footpath. The app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and is free of charge.

There are 3 really useful features - the user's grid reference is shown and allows details of a fault to be entered + a photo uploaded. The 'Map' menu on the app shows the society's signposts & bridges via standard location icons. The 'PNFS' menu provides links to the PNFS website ....

Well worth the download  and well worth advertising !
