What We Do
The Chinley & Buxworth Transport Group...
- Seeks to secure improvements in all public transport provision in the local area.
- Advocates for Chinley Station within the High Peak & Hope Valley Community Rail Partnership (click for more info)
- Liaises with and raises transport issues with local and national bodies including Network Rail, Northern Rail, Transport for the North and the National Infrastructure Commission.
- Brings issues to the attention of elected members of the East Midlands Combined County Authority, Derbyshire CC, High Peak Borough Council, the local Parish Council and the Member of Parliament for the High Peak.
- Campaigns for better maintenance of Chinley station & for substantial improvements to be made as regards ‘access for all’ to Chinley station (UPDATE January 2026)
- Campaigns for better bus services within the local area.
- Organises surveys within the local area in order to establish up-to-date data on people’s concerns and wishes and publishes a bi-monthly Newsletter (sign up below!)
- Attends a number of stakeholder and consultative forums eg Travel Watch NW.
