East Midlands Combined County Authority
East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) is led by Mayor Claire Ward and covers the four local authority areas of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Derby and Nottingham.
Northern services call at over 500 stations (approximately 20% of all UK railway stations). Travelling East from Chinley, the Hope Valley line serves all stations to Sheffield; travelling West, all stations to Manchester Piccadilly are served.
Given that Chinley has no step-free access to either the Sheffield bound or the Manchester bound platfom, the Northern Passenger assist team may be important for rail users to/from Chinley.
They are available 24 hours, 7 days a week (excluding Christmas Day), with booking in advance recommend 2 hours in advance for same day travel.

DfT OLR Holdings Ltd (DOHL) took over the operation of Northern Rail, through a wholly owned subsidiary, Northern Trains Limited (NTL) on 1 March 2020.
EMR connects Derby, Leicester and Nottingham with London St Pancras, and further north with Sheffield, Manchester and Liverpool. From Chinley there are direct connections to Hazel Grove, Stockport, Manchester Piccadilly, Liverpool, Sheffield and Nottingham.
The Midlands Connect Partnership “researches, develops and progresses transport projects that will provide the biggest possible social, economic and environmental benefits for the Midlands region, and the rest of the UK”.
Transport for the North/Northern Powerhouse Rail
Transport for the North is the first statutory sub-national transport body in the United Kingdom. It was formed in 2018 to make the case for strategic transport improvements across the North of England.You can access its meetings & their minutes here

CBTG works with the officers of the HPHVRP on all matters concerning Chinley station – from Access for All to the station planters. The upgrade of this website was supported financially by HPHVCRP.

The ORR “regulates the rail industry’s health and safety performance, holds Network Rail and High Speed 1 (HS1) to account and makes sure that the rail industry is competitive and fair.
ORR also monitors National Highways and has economic regulatory functions in relation to railways in N.I. and for northern half of the Channel Tunnel, situated in UK.”
The ORR publishes annual estimates of the number of entries/exits and interchanges at each station in Great Britain. These estimates are based primarily on ticket sales and are produced by Steer on behalf of ORR.
