Glossop in the news!

Glossop station in the High Peak of Derbyshire will be one of the first stations in the Greater Manchester area to be integrated into the Bee Network.

Eight commuter rail lines will be join the network in phases from December 2026 through to 2028 – with contactless 'tap and go' fares for train travel to be rolled out across commuter rail lines.

In its first phase, set for December 2026, the lines from Manchester Piccadilly to Hadfield, Glossop, and Rose Hill Marple will be integrated, as will the Manchester Victoria to Stalybridge route.

The second phase, scheduled for December 2027, includes the Piccadilly-Airport line, Piccadilly-Cheadle Hulme route, and Piccadilly-Middlewood track.

The final phase, earmarked for March to December 2028, is the largest. It will see TfGM take over city centre stations, as well as routes from town to Appleby Bridge, Wigan North Western, Hindley, and Rochdale. See the (2025) BBC article here...
