Walk Ride GM is an extremely active group whose campaigning vision is to to "make walking, wheeling and cycling the natural choice for journeys across Greater Manchester.

They aim to do this " by influencing policy and decision makers, and by setting an agenda, backed by communities who demand change."

They write:

"Walking, wheeling or cycling is good for our health, good for our communities and good for our planet, but at the moment many people don’t feel that these modes of travel are safe or accessible enough – even though 49% of us want to walk or wheel more, and 40% want to cycle more.^"
