Reasons to be cheerful - in Huddersfield and Hull! Why not in Chinley?

Two northern stations managed by TransPennine Express are currently in the news - for the right reasons !

Huddersfield station is currently in the middle of a major upgrade -  the station will have 4 through platforms and 2 bay platforms to increase operational flexibility. Platforms will be extended to 200m in length (excluding the Penistone line platform) and moved slightly eastwards towards Leeds, and as a result, a new footbridge with lifts will be installed to supplement the existing subway.

At the other end of the TransPennine route network, Hull's Paragon Interchange station was awarded a top award in the National Rail Award's Large Station category.

" This award reflects the hard work, passion and commitment of colleagues, partners and the local community who have transformed Hull Paragon into a safer, more welcoming and vibrant place,” said Ben Courtney, former station manager for Hull, Brough and Selby, who was closely involved in the station’s redevelopment". This all makes for cheerful reading - but why, oh why, is there no news about the start date for improvements at Chinley station, despite its inclusion on the DfT's 2024 Access for All list ?
