Manchester Piccadilly station will close  for nine days from 14 February 2026 for upgrades to tracks, points and signalling systems.

According to the Network Rail information page:-

"In February 2026, we’re investing £7.9m to improve tracks, points and signalling systems on the southern approach to Manchester Piccadilly station. During this time, there will be no trains from the south and east of the city into Manchester".

Work is due for completion on Sunday 22 February.

During the works, services normally running to and from the station will terminate at other stations, including Stockport.
