Railwatch magazine is reporting in its latest issue (Dec. 2023) that there is a new proposal for a Very Light Rail connection to be established between Buxton and the start of the Monsal Trail. The VLR system would use existing track and would mean that cyclists and trail users who are not travelling by car would have a much easier, safer way of getting to this very popular trail.
