legal obligations for access

MPs quiz operators and regulators on failings and responsibilities re Access

Parliament's Transport Select Committee has an ongoing inquiry into the UK's different transport modes in order to investigate failings around obligations to ensure that services are accessible to all.

A major focus of this work is determining where responsibility lies...

For the meeting of the 22nd November 2023, the witnesses (full schedule below) for this session of the cross-party Transport Committee’s inquiry into accessible transport were representatives of trade bodies such as the Confederation of Passenger Transport, Airlines UK, the Rail Delivery Group and the Airport Operators Association.

MPs also questioned senior officials from regulators including the Civil Aviation Authority, the Office for Rail and Road and the Driver and Vehicle Standards Authority (DVSA).
