How can access to the Peak District National Park be made more sustainable and less dependent on people travelling by car in order to access cycle/walking trails such as the Monsal Trail, Tissington Trail and High Peak Trail  ?

A Very Light Rail link (click here for an introduction to the new types of units ) is now being seriously considered for a project which would see electric passenger trains run on the existing freight lines to Monsal, Tissington and High Peak Trails. Buxton Town Team is coordinating the project together with the Friends of Buxton Station , the High Peak and Hope Valley Community Rail Partnership ,  Eversholt Rail  and Transport Design International (TDI)
